Book a Willow Sculpture Course in 2020

To book any Pembrokeshire Willow Courses for 2020, please use our new online booking system below. Course fees are refundable only up to 6 weeks before the date of the course.

All courses include materials and run from 10-5pm. There are very limited spaces on each courses so please book early!

Leaping Hare Workshop April 11th

Create a dynamic leaping hare from my gorgeous naturally coloured willow. We will use random weave techniques to build up the shape over the day, using a bespoke metal frame, to finish with a lovely creation for your garden. Price includes all materials. Suitable for those with some experience of weaving with willow.

Honey Bee Workshop April 25th

Using a metal frame as a base, we will create spheres to gradually build up he shape of the honey bee. The technique of random weave will join the elements of the sculpture together, to create a suspended honey bee to fly through your garden. Suitable for beginners. Price includes all materials.

Lizard Workshop May 9th

A new workshop using our native wildlife as inspiration! Create a large lizard you can hang from a wall or put on your patio. We will start with small spheres then join them together, weave a long tail, and finishing with head & toes! A fun day of weaving to create a totally unique structure for you garden. Suitable for beginners. Price includes all materials.

Dragonfly Workshop May 23rd

Another native species for your collection, woven onto a metal frame to support the dragonfly as it flies through the air! Small spheres are woven together, a long tail is added, all using random weave techniques. Finally wings are added to create the movement needed to give the illusion of flying through your garden. Suitable for beginners. Price includes all materials.

Small Dog Workshop June 6th

Let’s get challenged in this workshop – we’ll make spheres and cones, and gradually build up the shape of a small dog! Could include terriers, dachshunds, and whippet type shapes. We’ll be making sure we get the details woven on – feet, head shape, noses, tails! Suitable only for those with experience of willow sculpture.

Book a Tour of Plas Helyg in 2020

As one of the first ever OPD’s built here at the Lammas Ecovillage we have a lot to share with you about low impact building and growing a business from the land. What started as barren overgrazed sheep pasture has become a biodiverse paradise, supporting a family to live within a One Planet Footprint. Our public tours are on the following dates;

June 27th – starting at the Lammas Community Hub at 11am, finishing at 12.30pm.
July 25th – starting at the Lammas Community Hub at 11am, finishing at 12.30pm.
August 22nd – – starting at the Lammas Community Hub at 11am, finishing at 12.30pm.

We ask for donations of £6 per adult. Children under 16 are free, and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Private Tour of Plas Helyg

Enjoy a private tour of Plas Helyg for 1.5 hours, to include buildings, gardens and as many questions as you can fit in, for up to 10 people. Plas Helyg is one of the original and most well established smallholdings in the Lammas Ecovillage. Children under 15 free, well behaved dogs on leads welcome. Date by arrangement after booking – email me to ensure your preferred date is available prior to payment.

We are moving forward with completing this lovely little building in 2020. If you would like to get involved and immerse yourself for a couple of days – please scroll through and choose from the dates below. We ask for a small fee which really is just to encourage you to show up!

Eco-building Experience February 19th & 20th

Get hands on and engage with natural building!
In our final push to finish the eco-pod, you can come and learn about building with cordwood, cob, timber framing, cladding, how to use recycled materials for insulation, and much much more. Each session we will focus on part of the build, but are always happy to talk about anything that interests you.

Bring a packed lunch, camping possible by arrangement. This fee covers up to two days in a row working with us, hours to suit you.
